  • Introduction to ESL Training: Part IEnglish language tutoring is one of the largest needs for refugee and immigrant communities. While informal conversation can be helpful, it is the in-depth, strategic ESL instruction from trained ESL tutors that is most effective and needed. Therefore, World Relief asks that ESL In-Home Tutors and Aides engage in a total of 12 training hours within the first three months of volunteering. This “Introduction to ESL” training will cover such topics as ESL methodology, planning for lessons and practical ideas for tutoring.
  • Intermediate ESL Training: Part IIThis training will cover topics on how to teach English-language learners to speak and listen. This time will also be used for problem solving and a round-table discussion.
