World Relief
- Community Conversations: A place for refugees to discuss their experiences with other refugees and World Relief. Held monthly Contact: Susan Sperry (630)-462-7566 (x15)
- Refugee Issues & Cross Cultural Training: Explore the refugee journey to the United States, different resettlement populations, and how to communicate more effectively in cross cultural ministry
- Friendship Partner Training: Discuss different systems involved in refugee resettlement, including Public Aid, Medicaid, and World Relief services, and work in groups to unpack some curious and challenging FP scenarios.

- Introduction to ESL Training: Part IEnglish language tutoring is one of the largest needs for refugee and immigrant communities. While informal conversation can be helpful, it is the in-depth, strategic ESL instruction from trained ESL tutors that is most effective and needed. Therefore, World Relief asks that ESL In-Home Tutors and Aides engage in a total of 12 training hours within the first three months of volunteering. This “Introduction to ESL” training will cover such topics as ESL methodology, planning for lessons and practical ideas for tutoring.
- Intermediate ESL Training: Part IIThis training will cover topics on how to teach English-language learners to speak and listen. This time will also be used for problem solving and a round-table discussion.
- Intermediate ESL Training: Part IIIThis training will cover topics on how to teach English-language learners to read and write, and fun ways to teach grammar. This time will also be used for problem solving and a round-table discussion.

“Introduction to Muslim Ministry”: The purpose of this class is to “Mobilize the people of DuPage County to share Christ with Muslims through study, interaction and ministry.”
This class will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Thursday beginning on August 26 and ending on December 9. The cost is $50 for the nine sessions or $7 per session.

| Perspectives on the World Christian Movement will be hosted by Glen Ellyn Bible Church during the spring semester of 2011. 15 outstanding speakers will share from their experiences and teach on the biblical, historical, cultural & strategic perspectives of God’s plan for the nations.
